LDN by LSE: Kent & Curwen

by Chu Ting Ng

The Fashion Society's annual show, LDN by LSE was proudly sponsored by Kent & Curwen this year.

Kent & Curwen is one of England's exclusive heritage brands, specialising in gentlemen's club and sports wear. Founders Eric Kent and Dorothy Curwen began the store in 1926, and now Kent & Curwen has over 90 stores all over the world. Its primary flagship is located in Piccadilly Circus, the very heart of London.

In addition to Kent & Curwen's support and sponsorship, the Fashion Society had the privilege of picking out outfits from both formal and casual ranges for the show. Model John Degraft-Johnson commented on the quality of the fabric, stating that his pieces were "excellently cut and felt fantastic on, you really feel confident and assertive". Post-show, American model Michael Sidgmore thought Kent & Curwen "combined true British class with the style of the East Hamptons, New York".

Famed for the cricket sweater, Kent & Curwen's look is characterised by the English sport, rugby. As important as tradition is, the brand relates to the younger generation by keeping up to date design-wise. Model David Rimoch found the clothes to be "the epitome of old England but with a young twist, the fabrics are exquisite and the suits have unexpected details". These unique features are what drives the label will maintain its reputation for years to come.

Happy models post-show
