Introducing Qualified

Welcome to the LSESU Fashion Society's official blog, Qualified! This is where the fashion-famished of LSE congregate and discuss all things fashion and fashion-related, no holds barred.

Besides the usual photo-posts that most fashion blogs carry, Qualified aims to pull opinions on any fashion topic, awesome or unsavoury, from the university population. We're spoilt for choice in today's burgeoning fashion scene, and as with all things creative there are bound to be issues with taste and standards.

Given that we're all in LSE, we definitely all have a brain on us. So why keep quiet when we know that not everything lauded is definitely good? Forget industry pressure. Forget "trends" or what Vogue/Harper's Bazaar/Elle calls "hot", generalising is pitifully facile. Why should we take what other fashion blogs and giants like Wintour say? Nothing guarantees that their taste is always great.

Here at Qualified, we want you to put your views forward. We want commentary and ideas that are not only justified, but also well thought through. We want flippance. We want humour and honest criticism. We don't want pure bitchery though, because angst gets old (and boring, but don't tell the emo kids). We want to share admiration. We want inspiration, as we all plod along with the more mundane aspects of uni life. We want eloquence and open minds. Most of all, we want real opinions from a fashion audience we're so very tangibly part of.

Whether to celebrate a revolutionary line this season or strip away ridiculously blind band-wagon cooing, Qualified wants your input. If you're interested in contributing, start by contacting the Fashion Society's Media Editor, Chu (yours truly) at c.t.ng1@lse.ac.uk with your name, year, course and pitch. We welcome articles, pictures, quotes, videos.. just about anything, really. Gotta love the Internet.

As a major publicity platform for the Fashion Society, details for events will be posted up here as well. Qualified will eventually entertain publicity or advertising requests. Again, please contact me at the above address for further details.

We hope you'll enjoy the blog, there's lots more to come (ideally with your help). Here's to a diverse, inspired and unpretentious 2010/11!

xoxo
Chu
